For the past month, hundreds of players have beaten up the Virtue Poker Beta 1 software every single day. On each of those days, we gave away Ether as an incentive — 35 ETH and counting. We held random drawings every day in which we gave a table of players each a prize varying from 0.10 to 0.50 ETH. We conducted Bust-a-Host tables where players had the opportunity to bust one of us for a prize between 0.25 and 0.50 ETH. And all this time, players were building their bankrolls and hands played, hoping to share in the additional 40 ETH we’re giving away at the end of the Beta 1.
And there was one additional prize everyone had their eyes on — the prize all poker players want, a $10,000 entry in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. Last year, the winner of the WSOP Main Event went home with $8.8 million and some very nice jewelry.
Players earned tickets throughout the Beta 1 by achieving various objectives. In total, over 110,000 tickets were issued for the WSOP Main Event drawing, which includes not just the Main Event entry but $2,000 spending money. Today, we conducted the drawing, and we’re thrilled to announce that PiscoBandito will be playing in the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event!
PiscoBandito, whose real name is Josh Sommers, will be playing in the largest tournament of any kind, not just poker, anywhere in the world. This year’s Main Event is expected to draw over 8,000 players to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Josh will be a part of history, and if he plays well and if he (and we) are lucky, he’ll be at the final table, guaranteed at least $1 million with a potential payday estimated at over $9 million.
We will post further details here, and will do our best to track Josh’s progress while playing in the Main Event. Please join us in wishing him luck!
